Classic Apple Cobbler

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the apples by combining them with 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg; let them sit for 10 minutes.
  3. Mix the batter by whisking together 1 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt, then stir in 1 cup of milk and 1/2 cup of melted butter until just combined.
  4. Combine the batter and apple mixture in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish—we want them to stay separate.
  5. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  6. Cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
