Decadent Baileys Chocolate Mousse

A silky, dreamy chocolate mousse infused with Baileys Irish Cream, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • ½ cup whipping cream
  • ½ cup Baileys Irish Cream
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup whipping cream (for topping, optional)
  • 2 tbsp icing sugar (for topping, optional)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for topping, optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate: In a heatproof bowl over simmering water, combine chopped chocolate and butter until smooth.
  2. Whip the cream: In a separate bowl, whip ½ cup of whipping cream until soft peaks form.
  3. Prepare the egg mixture: Whisk the egg yolk and Baileys together, then stir in the melted chocolate mixture.
  4. Whip the egg whites: In a clean bowl, whip egg whites until soft peaks form; gradually add sugar while continuing to whip.
  5. Combine mixtures: Gently fold the egg whites into the chocolate mixture in batches.
  6. Chill and set: Transfer mousse to serving dishes and refrigerate for 2-3 hours, or overnight for best texture.

Notes

For serving, top with whipped cream, cocoa powder, or chocolate shavings; you can also layer in clear glass cups for a beautiful presentation.
