Homemade Chunky Monkey Ice Cream

  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chunks

Instructions

  1. Prepare the bananas by peeling and mashing them in a bowl.
  2. Mix in the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 120 minutes.
  4. Churn the mixture in an ice cream maker or freeze in a container, stirring every 30 minutes.
  5. Add the chopped walnuts and chocolate chunks when the ice cream is almost ready.
  6. Freeze for at least 240 minutes or overnight before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream. For dairy-free, replace with almond or coconut milk.
