Cherry Almond Jam

A delightful blend of sweet cherries and almond liqueur, perfect for spreading on toast or serving with cheese.

  • 36 ounces pitted sweet cherries, chopped
  • 3/4 cup almond liqueur
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 package (1-3/4 ounces) powdered fruit pectin
  • 4 1/2 cups sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare your jars: Start by sterilizing your jars and lids by boiling them in water for about 10 minutes.
  2. Chop the cherries: Rinse and pit the cherries, then chop them into smaller pieces.
  3. Mix it up: In a large pot, combine the chopped cherries and lemon juice, and bring to a boil.
  4. Add the pectin: Sprinkle in the powdered fruit pectin while stirring continuously, then return to a boil.
  5. Sweeten the deal: Gradually add the sugar while stirring and boil until dissolved.
  6. Pour in the almond liqueur: Stir it in for added flavor.
  7. Test for readiness using the gel test on a cold plate.
  8. Ladle the jam into sterilized jars, leaving space at the top.
  9. Seal and cool the jars at room temperature.
