A delightful loaf that combines the gooey goodness of cinnamon rolls with the ease of baking in a loaf pan, creating a sweet treat perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup sugar for cinnamon sugar mix
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • Vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm milk (about 110°F) and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix the dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture, eggs, and melted butter. Stir until it begins to come together.
  3. Knead it: Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Let it rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise for about 1-1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  5. Roll it out: Punch down the dough, turn it out onto a floured surface, and roll into a rectangle about 12×18 inches.
  6. Add the cinnamon sugar: Evenly sprinkle the mixture over the rolled-out dough.
  7. Roll it up: From the long edge, roll the dough tightly and pinch seams to seal.
  8. Slice and shape: Cut the roll into 12 pieces and place them upright in a greased loaf pan.
  9. Second rise: Cover the loaf pan and let it rise again for 30-45 minutes.
  10. Bake time: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Cool a bit: Let the loaf cool for about 10 minutes before glazing.
  12. Glaze it: Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla; drizzle over the bread.
