Pumpkin Brown Butter Bread

A cozy fall-inspired pumpkin bread enriched with the nutty flavor of browned butter.

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup browned butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Brown the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat until it turns golden and smells nutty, about 5-8 minutes.
  3. Mix the cooled brown butter, pumpkin puree, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
  4. Combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and pumpkin pie spice in a separate bowl.
  5. Fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture gently until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 55-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve with a pat of butter or cream cheese for extra flavor. Consider adding nuts or chocolate chips for variations.
