  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup white chocolate chunks

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Mix together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup of cocoa powder, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream 1 cup of softened unsalted butter with 1 cup of granulated sugar and 1/2 cup of brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add in the large egg, 1 tablespoon of red food coloring, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract; blend until well combined.
  5. Combine the dry mixture into the wet batter, mixing just until incorporated.
  6. Fold in 1 cup of white chocolate chunks gently with a spatula.
  7. Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set, letting cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Add nuts for extra crunch or try mixing in some chai spices for a warm twist.
