French Strawberry Flaugnarde

A delightful custard-like dessert featuring juicy strawberries, perfect for brunch or a light dessert.

Ingredients

  • Fresh Strawberries (2 cups)
  • Eggs (3 large)
  • Milk (1 cup)
  • Granulated Sugar (1/2 cup)
  • All-Purpose Flour (1/2 cup)
  • Vanilla Extract (1 teaspoon)
  • Salt (a pinch)
  • Butter (for greasing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the baking dish by greasing it with butter.
  3. Mix the eggs and sugar in a bowl until light and frothy.
  4. Incorporate the milk and vanilla, whisking to combine.
  5. Add the flour and salt, and gently fold until just combined.
  6. Prepare the strawberries by washing and slicing them.
  7. Combine the batter and strawberries in the dish, pouring half the batter first.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until golden and set.
  9. Let it cool for about 10 minutes before slicing.
  10. Slice and serve with powdered sugar and optional toppings.
