Classic Pumpkin Bread

This classic pumpkin bread recipe is easy to make and perfect for fall, infused with the warmth of spices and the joy of family traditions.

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare your 9×5-inch loaf pan by greasing it with butter or cooking spray.
  3. Combine the dry ingredients in a medium bowl: flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  4. Mix the wet ingredients in a large bowl: vegetable oil, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and eggs.
  5. Add the pumpkin puree and vanilla extract, stirring until well combined.
  6. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients gently until just mixed.
  7. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for about 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool the loaf in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve slightly warm, plain or with butter. Pairs beautifully with tea or hot apple cider.
