A quick and simple recipe for delicious Strawberry Shortcake Bars that combine fresh strawberries with a buttery crumbly base and whipped cream.

  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 2 cups Fresh Strawberries
  • 1/4 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Reserved Crumb Mixture
  • Optional Garnishes: Fresh mint, additional strawberry slices, or chocolate drizzle

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking dish.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, and butter until crumbly.
  3. Reserve 1 cup of the mixture, then press the remaining mixture into the baking dish.
  4. Bake the base for 15 minutes until light golden.
  5. Prepare strawberries by hulling and slicing them, then tossing with powdered sugar.
  6. Whip the heavy cream with vanilla until soft peaks form.
  7. Assemble the bars by layering strawberries on the baked base, topping with whipped cream, and sprinkling reserved crumbs.
  8. Bake for an additional 15-20 minutes.
  9. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
