Iowa Party Bites

Cheesy, savory bites perfect for any gathering, packed with flavor and easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup cooked and crumbled sausage
  • 1/2 cup diced green onions
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 package of phyllo dough or pre-made puff pastry
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine the cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, crumbled sausage, green onions, mayonnaise, and sour cream in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add salt and pepper to taste and mix thoroughly.
  4. Prepare phyllo dough by layering 2-3 sheets, brushing them lightly with butter.
  5. Cut the dough into squares about 3-4 inches wide.
  6. Place a spoonful of the mixture in the center of each square.
  7. Fold the corners over the filling, pinching to seal.
  8. Arrange on a parchment-lined baking sheet and give a light spritz of cooking spray.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different cheeses and add spicy ingredients for a kick.
