Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup sugar

  2. Combine ingredients in a medium saucepan: sliced strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, and water.

  4. Mash the strawberries to your desired consistency using a potato masher or fork.
  5. Cool the sauce by removing it from heat and allowing it to sit for 10-15 minutes before serving.
  6. Store the sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week, or serve immediately.

Notes

This sauce can also be made with frozen strawberries; just thaw and reduce cooking time.
