A juicy beef patty shaped like a friendly monster, complete with cheese grin, olive eyes, and playful toppings for Halloween fun.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (450 grams)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • 4 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 4 teaspoons ketchup
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 2 leaves of baby romaine lettuce
  • 4 cheese slices
  • 4 tablespoons ketchup (or to liking)
  • Dill pickles (4 slices)
  • 8 green olives (large – without stones)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, dried thyme, egg, and breadcrumbs. Mix until just combined.
  2. Form Your Patties: Shape the mixture into four equal-sized patties.
  3. Get Your Skillet Ready: Heat the cooking oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the Patties: Carefully place your patties onto the skillet, cooking for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes.
  5. Melt the Cheese: Once the patties are nearly done, place a slice of cheese on top of each one and cover the skillet for about a minute.
  6. Toast the Buns: Lightly toast your hamburger buns in a separate pan until golden.
  7. Assemble Your Monster: Begin with the bottom bun, add mayonnaise and ketchup, then lettuce, followed by the burger, more ketchup, pickles, and olives. Top it off with the top bun.
  8. Serve and Enjoy: Plate your monster burgers with a side of fries or salad.
