Apple Pie Cupcakes

Delightful cupcakes filled with tender apple compote and topped with creamy frosting, capturing the flavors of traditional apple pie.

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup apple compote
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a cupcake tin with cupcake liners.
  3. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in a medium bowl.
  4. Beat the softened butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition and then mix in vanilla.
  6. Gradually add dry mixture to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
  7. Fold in the apple compote until evenly distributed.
  8. Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with batter.
  9. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  11. Beat together cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth for frosting.
  12. Frost the cooled cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.
  13. Sprinkle with cinnamon or festive sprinkles if desired.

Notes

Store leftover cupcakes in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
