Orange Ginger Honey Cake

A vibrant and uplifting dessert combining the warmth of ginger, zesty fresh oranges, and natural honey for a delightful treat.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • ¾ cup raw honey
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice
  • Zest of 2 oranges
  • 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
  • 2 tbsp honey (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp orange juice (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl.
  3. Mix the wet ingredients in a separate bowl.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently fold together.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
  7. Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  8. Make the glaze by whisking honey and orange juice together, and drizzle over the cooled cake.

Notes

Serve the cake with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream and a dusting of powdered sugar. Perfect for any occasion.
