Southern Strawberry Sweet Tea

A refreshing twist on classic Southern sweet tea, infused with macerated strawberries and a hint of lemon.

  • 1 Cup Fresh Strawberries
  • 2 Cups Water (for brewing)
  • 46 Black Tea Bags
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 4 Cups Cold Water
  • Fresh Mint Leaves (optional)
  • Optional Garnishes: Mint sprigs, sliced strawberries

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Strawberries: Wash and quarter the strawberries, sprinkle with sugar, and let macerate for 15 minutes.
  2. Brew the Tea: Boil 2 cups of water, add tea bags, and steep for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Combine the Goodness: Remove tea bags, stir in sugar while warm, then add strawberries and lemon juice.
  4. Chill Out: Add cold water to the mixture, stir, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  5. Serve with Flair: Pour over ice and garnish with mint and strawberries.

Notes

For a variation, try adding peaches or replacing black tea with herbal tea for a caffeine-free option.
