Nectarine Crumble

A warm and delicious Nectarine Crumble, featuring juicy nectarines and a buttery, crumbly topping, perfect for summer gatherings or a cozy night in.

  • 1 tablespoon butter (for buttering the baking dish)
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 5 cups sliced nectarines (about 6 nectarines / 2 pounds / 907 grams)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • Pinch kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Butter the baking dish with 1 tablespoon of butter.
  3. Prepare the nectarines by slicing them and mixing with sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, and spices.
  4. Pour the nectarine mixture into the buttered baking dish.
  5. Combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl; then add melted butter to create crumble topping.
  6. Sprinkle the crumble topping over the nectarines evenly.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Can be prepared in advance and baked when ready.
