Strawberry Pizza

A delightful dessert that combines the best parts of pizza and strawberry shortcake, featuring a buttery crust topped with cream cheese frosting and fresh strawberries.

  • 6 Tbsp softened butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp almond extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
  • 1/2 cup sugar (for the topping)
  • 2 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp lemon zest
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla (for cream cheese)
  • 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and 1/2 cup of sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Spread the dough into a greased pizza pan, smoothing it out for an even layer.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown, then let it cool completely.
  7. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 2 cups sliced strawberries, 1/2 cup sugar, cornstarch, and lemon zest, cooking for 5-7 minutes until thickened.
  8. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth, then gradually add powdered sugar and 1/2 tsp vanilla, mixing until combined.
  9. Once the crust is cooled, spread the cream cheese mixture over it.
  10. Pour the strawberry mixture over the cream cheese layer, then arrange additional sliced strawberries on top.
  11. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve with whipped cream or chocolate sauce for an extra indulgent touch. Great for gatherings or as a sweet treat!
