A nostalgic treat combining ripe bananas and chocolate chips for a soft, chewy cookie.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mashed ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a medium bowl until smooth.
  3. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy—about 3–5 minutes.
  4. Add in the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture until well combined.
  5. Fold in the mashed bananas gently.
  6. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients, stirring gently.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  8. Scoop generous portions of the dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Pop into your preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
  10. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes
