Chocolate Peanut Butter Gooey Cake

A deliciously indulgent cake with a gooey chocolate center swirled with creamy peanut butter.

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prep an 8-inch round cake pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  3. Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl: flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients in another bowl: eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract.
  5. Create the cake batter by pouring the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, folding until just combined.
  6. Prepare the peanut butter swirl by mixing peanut butter, powdered sugar, and 1 tablespoon of milk until smooth.
  7. Assemble the cake, pouring half the batter into the pan, dolloping peanut butter mixture on top, and repeating with the remaining batter and peanut butter.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Cool the cake for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar and a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an indulgent treat.
