Philly Cheesesteak Casserole

A comfort food dish that combines the heartiness of classic cheesesteak with the convenience of a casserole, perfect for any weeknight meal.

  • 1 pound of beef (thinly sliced)
  • 1 onion (sliced)
  • 1 bell pepper (sliced)
  • 2 cups of cooked pasta or diced potatoes
  • 2 cups of provolone or mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat and sauté the onions and bell peppers until soft and caramelized (about 5-7 minutes).
  3. Add the thinly sliced beef and season with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned (about 3-5 minutes).
  4. Stir in the cooked pasta or diced potatoes until well combined.
  5. Sprinkle 1½ cups of shredded cheese over the mixture and reserve the rest for the topping.
  6. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes before serving and garnish with fresh chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

Great for leftovers and highly adaptable with ingredient substitutions! Can be prepared a day in advance.
