Ultimate Strawberry Crisp

  • 5 heaping cups fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
  • 1/4 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 Tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 2/3 cup granulated white sugar
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the strawberries by tossing them with 1/4 cup sugar, vanilla extract, and cornstarch; let sit for 10 minutes.
  3. Make the topping by mixing flour, oats, white sugar, brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon in another bowl.
  4. Add the melted butter and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Assemble the crisp in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layering the strawberry mixture and topping.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden and bubbling.
  7. Cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
