Pepperoni Calzone

A classic comfort food, these pepperoni calzones are filled with gooey cheese and savory pepperoni, perfect for sharing and customizable to your taste.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pizza dough
  • 2025 slices pepperoni
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 egg wash (1 beaten egg)
  • Extra flour for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and dust your work surface with flour.
  2. Roll out your dough into desired shapes, about 6 inches in diameter.
  3. Fill each dough circle with pepperoni, mozzarella, ricotta, and Parmesan.
  4. Sprinkle garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper over the filling.
  5. Seal the edges of the dough tightly and crimp if desired.
  6. Transfer the calzones to a parchment-lined baking sheet and brush with olive oil.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool for a few minutes before serving.
  9. Serve warm with pizza sauce or marinara for dipping.
