Pumpkin Marble Bread

A cozy fall treat combining pumpkin and chocolate in a moist, flavorful loaf that delights the eyes and satisfies the palate.

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  3. Mix the pumpkin puree, sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in another bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  6. Separate about a cup of batter into another bowl; stir in cocoa powder and milk until smooth.
  7. Pour half of the pumpkin batter, then half of the cocoa batter into the loaf pan. Repeat with remaining batters and swirl together.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Serve warm with butter or cream cheese. Pairs well with spiced chai or hot cocoa.
