A spicy-sweet jam combining the vibrant flavors of ripe nectarines and habanero peppers, perfect for toast or as a BBQ sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe nectarines, pitted and chopped
  • 23 habanero peppers, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 packet pectin (optional, for thicker jam)

  3. Bring to a simmer over medium heat while stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves.
  4. Add pectin to the mix if using, and stir for about 1 minute.
  5. Let it boil for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.
  6. Test the consistency by dropping a spoonful on a cold plate.
  7. Transfer the jam into sterilized jars, leaving space at the top.
  8. Cool at room temperature before storing in the refrigerator.

Notes

For a more flavorful jam, consider adding orange zest or fresh herbs. Ensure to wear gloves while handling habaneros.
