PF Chang’s Chicken Lettuce Wraps

A delightful copycat recipe of PF Chang’s Chicken Lettuce Wraps, combining savory ground chicken, fresh vegetables, and aromatic sauces wrapped in crisp lettuce.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 pinch salt & pepper
  • 1 lb shiitake mushrooms (finely chopped)
  • 1 yellow onion (diced)
  • 1 cup matchstick carrots
  • 1 (227mL) can water chestnuts (finely chopped)
  • 4 green onions (sliced)
  • 1 head Boston leaf lettuce
  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce (or coconut aminos)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp freshly minced ginger (or 1 tsp dried)
  • 1 tsp sriracha (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the ground chicken and cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned.
  3. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper, stirring to distribute evenly.
  4. Add the chopped mushrooms and diced onion and sauté for about 5 minutes.
  5. Stir in the matchstick carrots, water chestnuts, and sliced green onions, and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes.
  6. Incorporate the soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, garlic, ginger, and sriracha, cooking for another 2-3 minutes.
  7. Prep the Boston lettuce leaves for wrapping.
  8. Assemble your wraps with the chicken mixture in the lettuce leaves and serve.

Notes

This recipe can easily be modified for different diets by substituting meats or adding more vegetables. Great for meal prep as the filling can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days.
