Maple Walnut Bread

A warm and comforting bake that combines the rich flavor of walnuts with the sweet taste of pure maple syrup, perfect for breakfast or as an afternoon snack.

  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 cup toasted walnuts, chopped
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. Toast the walnuts for 5-7 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Combine the maple syrup, eggs, milk, and melted butter in a large mixing bowl.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Fold the dry mixture into the wet ingredients gently.
  6. Add the toasted walnuts and fold them in.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

Enjoy warm with a spread of butter or cream cheese. This bread can also be made ahead and freezes well.
